Abstract: Nowadays, smart agriculture using wireless communication is replacing the wired system which was difficult to install and manage. Then, this paper introduces a new design for IoT application on the greenhouse, which utilizes different technologies to present a new model for practical implementation in the IoT concept. This design can settle a new method to solve problems in Market Demand, Precision in Operation and supervision. Furthermore, this design can be used in many cases and assist farmers, cropper and planted people to develop their business.
Max-margin Deep Generative Models

Abstract: Deep generative models (DGMs) are effective on learning multilayered representations of complex data and performing inference of input data by exploring the generative ability. However, little work has been done on examining or empowering the discriminative ability of DGMs on making accurate predictions. This paper presents max-margin deep generative models (mmDGMs), which explore the strongly discriminative principle of max-margin learning to improve the discriminative power of DGMs, while retaining the generative capability. We develop an efficient doubly stochastic subgradient algorithm for the piecewise linear objective. Empirical results on MNIST and SVHN datasets demonstrate that (1) max-margin learning can significantly improve the prediction performance of DGMs and meanwhile retain the generative ability; and (2) mmDGMs are competitive to the state-of-the-art fully discriminative networks by employing deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) as both recognition and generative models.
A preliminary study on the treatment of bruxism by biofeedback therapy  [PDF]

Abstract:

Objective: To evaluate the effect of wireless biofeedback therapy on bruxism. Methods: Fifteen bruxiers participated to be treated by this therapy. The abnormal movements of teeth during sleep were monitored by a maxillary splint with an electric resistance strain gauge. Meanwhile, the receiver device recorded these details and analyzed the data, including the value of the biting force, occurring time and duration. If the value of biting force or duration exceeds the threshold, a vibrating device like a watch style will alert the patient to relax the masticatory muscles and nervous system to stop the abnormal grinding or clenching. Data were recorded during 8 hours’ sleep and analyzed after the 12 weeks’ treatment and 24 weeks’ treatment. Results: The average episodes of bruxism have declined from (10.60 ± 1.23) to (6.60 ± 0.75) after 12 weeks’ treatment (p < 0.05), and the average duration of bruxism events was reduced from (13.2 ± 0.74) s to (6.50 ± 0.40) s (p < 0.05). The average episodes of bruxism have declined to (3.80 ± 0.64) after 24 weeks’ treatment, and the average duration of bruxism events was reduced to (3.37 ± 0.34) s (p < 0.05). Conclusions: The results suggest that biofeedback therapy can be effective for bruxism treatment.

Abstract: 为研究花鼠乳酸脱氢酶C(lactate dehydrogenase C,LDH-C)对花鼠免疫不育控制的影响,以花鼠睾丸cDNA为模板,通过RT-PCR技术得到花鼠LDH-C基因cDNA编码区,并进行序列分析,构建花鼠LDH-C的原核表达载体,导入到大肠杆菌BL21(DE3)中诱导表达,并采用聚丙烯酰胺凝胶电泳和免疫印迹法对表达产物进行鉴定.结果显示:扩增出的cDNA片段为999 bp,编码332个氨基酸,含有完整的开放阅读框;负电荷残基与正电荷残基均为36个;预测蛋白质分子量为37 kD,理论等电点为7.04,信号肽和跨膜区,推测其是一种非分泌、疏水性蛋白.α螺旋、规则卷曲以及延伸链是sLDH-C蛋白二级结构的主要成分.重组菌在IPTG诱导下获得了约37 kD带有His-Tag的目的蛋白.
In order to investigate the effects of lactate dehydrogenase C (LDH-C) on chipmunks, Tamias sibiricus, immune infertility control, the cDNA of chipmunks LDH-C was cloned from the chipmunks testis by RT-PCR, and its sequence was analyzed. The LDH-C gene was constructed into the prokaryotic expression vector, and this vector was transformed into E. coli BL21 (DE3) and was induced by IPTG. The SDS-PAGE and western-blot were conducted to identify the expression products. The results showed that the cDNA was 999 bp and encoded for a polypeptide of 332 amino acids, which contained complete open reading frame. The amount of negatively charged residues and positively charged residues were both 36 and the predicted molecular mass was around 37 kD. The theoretical isoelectric point (pI) was 7.04, and there was no signal peptide or transmembrane region. The LDH-C protein was predicted as non-secreted and hydrophobicity protein. Alpha helix, random coil and extended strand were the main components of the secondary structure of LDH-C. A 37 kD target protein with His-Tag was obtained from prokaryotic expression induced by IPTG.

Abstract: Under the assumption that the earth movement tendency is a sphere, the author does research about the earthquakes occurrence between 2001 and 2010 which over 6 scales of magnitude on occurred time (UTC), magnitude, longitude, latitude and other data, then give out the causal relationship of earthquakes and the co-planarity and symmetry theory of earthquake occurrence. Also, the author does empirical analysis in the paper.

Abstract: In this paper, based on binomial formula, a law of genetic inheritance is proposed, and it would have certain reference value for future genetic inheritance research. Besides, a recursive algorithm for recessive inheritance is also proposed. Given any two of the male parent, female parent and filial generation, the genomic information of the third one can be calculated uniquely.

Abstract:

In this paper, we apply the Legendre spectral-collocation method to obtain approximate solutions of nonlinear multi-order fractional differential equations (M-FDEs). The fractional derivative is described in the Caputo sense. The study is conducted through illustrative example to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the presented method. The results reveal that the proposed method is very effective and simple. Moreover, only a small number of shifted Legendre polynomials are needed to obtain a satisfactory result.

Abstract: Based on cointegration theory and Granger causality test, applied on the gross domestic production of industry and direct foreign investments economic statistic data from 1983 to 2010 of China to analyze the long and steady dynamic equilibrium relations. Research results indicate that there is long-term stable one-way Granger causality relationship between the growth of gross domestic production of industry and direct foreign investments. The growth of direct foreign investments affect the growth of gross domestic production of industry, but industrial economic growth is not the reasons of the direct foreign investments.

Abstract:

“The Kite Management Philosophy” tells us: Before making change, an organization should fully understand the surrounding environment, prepare related factors and develop a suitable system. After the conditions are ripe, it must boldly implement the organizational goals and be good at controlling. The current biggest problem of obsessing and obstacle of the Chinese universities logistics reform is not properly handling the relationship between logistics public welfare and marketability. The dependence relationship of the two aspects is like a flying kite—more public welfare means taking back and more marketability means flying off. Managers should follow “The Kite Management Philosophy”, timely release and recycle the cord according to the actual situation. They should dare to reform, be good at controlling and have the courage to innovate.

Abstract:

This paper proposes a kind of compact extrapolation schemes for a linear Schr?dinger equation. The schemes are convergent with fourth-order accuracy both in space and time. Especially, a specific scheme of sixth-order accuracy in space is given. The stability and discrete invariants of the schemes are analyzed. The schemes satisfy discrete conservation laws of original Schr?dinger equation. The numerical example indicates the efficiency of the new schemes.
